Cat and Mouse Continues

Three Greensboro Police Officers are currently being investigated for assault charges of some kind. Every media outlet in the area is digging away trying to find out the exact details of the charges but no one has been very successful.
From the News & Record “Among the questions people at City Hall refuse to answer: When and where did the alleged incident take place? Did it involve aggravated assault or sexual assault? Who made the allegation? Were the officers on duty or off duty?
At least two City Council members said Wednesday leaders should address the incident publicly — even if they have to say they can’t release further information.
“I’m trying to give the benefit of the doubt to the police department and city staff, but I think we have to come out and answer some questions publicly,” Councilwoman Mary Rakestraw said.”
Do you feel as though by not releasing the information the city is making this story get much more attention than it would had they released the information on day one? The council just reallocated $500,000 to the Greensboro Police Department and also told the city manager to reduce the city staff by 49. At a time of such great need should we be suspending officers (which we are in great need of) with pay or should they be allowed to work until charges are filed?

Gosh Ryan, it appears you’re questioning the handling of the City of Greensboro’s police department public relations. Isn’t that negative in tone? We can’t have that now can we?

Roger,
I asked two devil’s advocate questions. Take it any way you like. Negativity is not the way to go though.
